The Central Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Tribhuvan University (CDCSIT-TU) at Kirtipur was established in the year 2001 with a vision to gear towards placing Nepal in the Global IT map and to contribute to the Information Technology by focusing on quality education, research and innovation. Since its inception, it is planning to head toward working in partnership with the corporate sector, while retaining its academic freedom. CDCSIT-TU is inspired by other renowned instutions like IIT's(India), IISc-b(Banglore,India), IIIT-b (Banglore, India) , UNLV (Las Vegas, USA) and Marist College (New York, USA) and draws from their experience and is planning to head towards other Institutions.
